Thankful | Grateful | Blessed
Hey, y’all — I’m Amanda!
I’m a proud dog mom, outdoor wanderer, traveler, and the photographer behind Shot by Murphy Photography. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me working and traveling as a Sales & Marketing Rep for Flint River Mills, Inc., a feed manufacturing company based in Bainbridge, Georgia. My “day job” keeps me on the road, meeting good people and seeing new places — two things I’ve always loved — and I’m incredibly blessed that photography gives me the opportunity to do even more of both.
I’m so glad you found your way here. Whether you’re just looking through photos, thinking about booking a session, or trying to decide if I’m the right photographer to capture something special for you, pull up a chair and stay awhile!
A Little About What I Do
One of the things I love most about photography is that I don’t have to fit myself into just one little box.
I love photographing families and extended families and creating those images you’ll actually want to print big and hang on the wall. I love engagement sessions and capturing that exciting season before “I do.” And if you know me, you know animals — especially dogs — have a pretty big piece of my heart.
From beloved companion animals who are simply part of the family to sporting and working dogs doing what they were bred and trained to do, I love capturing their personalities, relationships, movement, and all those little details their people know by heart.
At the end of the day, I enjoy photographing your moments — the people, animals, relationships, milestones, and memories that mean something to you.
More Than Just a Camera
Photography is something I take a great deal of pride in, and I’m a firm believer that if someone trusts me with their memories, I owe it to them to show up prepared.
I invest a significant amount of time and money into professional, high-quality Nikon equipment, photography education and training, editing software, and continuing to learn the latest techniques, trends, and information about the gear I use. Cameras and technology are constantly changing, and I believe part of being a professional is continuing to learn your craft instead of simply buying a nice camera and calling it a day.
My current camera bodies include the Nikon Z9 and D850, with a D750 as a backup, along with professional-quality lenses and equipment selected for the different types of work I photograph.
Having quality gear matters to me — but knowing how to use it matters even more.
When you hire me, my goal is for you to feel confident that I have the experience, equipment, and knowledge to capture your moments beautifully, whether we’re photographing a family, a fast-moving sporting dog, your four-legged best friend, an engagement, or something completely unique to you.
Have Camera, Will Travel!
Travel has always been something I love, so I’m happy to come to you, your property, or your event. If you have a special location in mind — or you have an idea and aren’t quite sure how to make it happen — just reach out. I’m always happy to talk through locations, session ideas, travel, and special packages.
Most of all, thank you for stopping by. There are a whole lot of photographers out there, and I don’t take it lightly when someone chooses me to document a piece of their story.
I hope we get the chance to create something worth hanging on the wall — and remembering for years to come.
